I made noises like this all the way to work, today.
SERIOUSLY?! You’re going to go 40mph on the freeway while you smoke a cigarette and check your phone?! REALLY?!
Get OUTTA THE WAY, Grandpa.
Schoolbusses, why must you alwaysssss come to a 10-second stop at every railroad track?
Really, it was my fault that I was running late this morning. My apologies to the cities of Brooklyn Park, Blaine, Circle Pines, Lexington, Lino Lakes and Centeville for being, “that driver,” this morning.
I am being punished by a scratchy throat.
9/11
It was my junior year of high school. As I left my first hour choir class, the hallways were buzzing with conversation about a plane crash in New York City. In my second hour speech class, my friend Christie and I sat down at a computer in the library to do research. As I looked around, the entire class was visiting news websites, and images of the first tower blazing in flames displayed on every computer screen. Soon, they turned the TVs on and let us crowd around to watch The Today Show. As Matt Lauer and Katie Couric craned their necks behind their studio couch at Rockefeller Center, to get a clear view of the World Trade Center, we watched as the second plane hit the second tower, in real time. My hands flew up over my mouth and chills rushed down my body. I’ll never forget that feeling.
